Tips For Fiverr Sellers - Part 01
I have been active on Fiverr for quite a while now and it has also been a while since I posted on here and I have discovered a few ideas that I thought that someone might find helpful. I have been active on Fiverr for more than one year now and since I have completed more than 50 successful orders with a flawless 5 star rating, I'm going to share a few tips and tricks that might help you to increase your sales on Fiverr. I hope you guys will find these tips helpful to support and promote your own business.
And since this can turn into a really really long post, I plan to divide it in a couple of parts at least. Check back in for the next one too. But read them in the order because the material might be linked back and forth.
Start by creating an awesome gig.
The gig should be something that you are really good at. Don't just copy someone else just because their gig is selling like hot cakes and you want a piece of that one. They are good at what they are doing and their gig will always sell faster and better than you (Unless you get really really lucky). Nobody wants half-hearted services when they can get a dedicated person for the same amount. So start with creating a gig that would be fun for you too. Nothing better than earning for doing something you love.
1. Title - The title should perfectly explain your gig in a few words. It is noticed that shorter titles sell better than long sentences in that short space. Also do remember to add your keywords in the title itself. Just helps to optimize the gig to the right search category.
2. Description - A well written description goes a long way in telling your buyers what you are offering. Try to take a look at your description from a third person's point of view and then rephrase a few sentences if you yourself find them confusing. Also check your description for spellings. There is nothing that turns a person off if you don't have the right spellings. Also just because you are able to write paragraphs in the description doesn't mean that you should. Keep the sentences short and to the point.
3. Gig Gallery - The gig gallery should explain the gig perfectly. Do remember to have clean and high resolution images here.
4. Cover Image - White it probably doesn't help in 'selling' the gig directly. It does make your Fiverr gig page look better and more finished. And the human eye also searches for more information, thus helping in keeping the person on your gig page. Start by adding a great image.
5. Gig Extras - Extras go a real long way in explaining to the buyer what do you have to offer. Make sure the extras are explained properly. If you think you aren't able to explain them in the limited space, you can always ask the buyer to contact you first before purchasing any of them.
Share your gig on Social Networks.
1. Facebook - I know I know.... Sharing on Facebook isn't exactly the greatest tip i can give you. And it has been repeated insane number of time until now. But it is one of the most effective ways to share and promote your gigs. Ask your friends to share your posts. A lot of our friends have business now and you can always ask them to buy your gigs first just to get the ball rolling because at times, getting the first sale on a gig can take a lot of time. Also take advantage of Facebook's pages and groups. Participating regularly on them not only helps you create more professional contacts, but also increases the views your work might get. You never know when someone might like your work and contact you.
2. Twitter - You can keep tweeting your gig periodically BUT DON'T SPAM. Twitter can recognise spammers and once you end up in twitter jail, you can't tweet for a while. Keep it slow but periodic. You can use some auto-tweeters to help schedule your tweets.
3. Pinterest - You can create a few pins with the images of your Fiverr gigs in them. This is helpful especially for categories that involve more visual styles like graphic design and motion graphics.
4. Linkedin - When it comes to selling and promoting your business, Linkedin goes a long way to help you grow your professional network and there are a lot of people who are looking for material on Linkedin. After all, eveybody there is serious about some work aspect of their life.
5 - Youtube - Unusual but effective. Fiverr asks you to upload a video on your gig by default and since you already might have a video, might as well upload it on youtube and create backlinks to your gigs.
6 - Blogger/Wordpress - You can always create a blog that is dedicated to Fiverr (like this one) and offer people some discounts if they get on Fiverr from your blog. Do ask them to let you know if they have come from your blog. Blogs are indexed way better on search engines compared to Fiverr website. There is a greater chance of people who don't know about Fiverr ending up on your blog and checking out your awesome services.
Keep updating your gig.
Just creating a gig on Fiverr and then forgetting about it won't work in the long run, unless of course, you have something that never gets old. But I don't see too many things that never change with time. You will need to keep updating it and making it better. Also Fiverr increases the views your gig gets when you update any of it. But don't do it too often or you can get blocked for that.
